Scallop

Maggi Hambling's sculpture Scallop on the shingle beach at Aldeburgh, commemorates the composer, Benjamin Britten.  The couple sunbathing right next to it asked me, after I had prowled around taking a few pictures "oh, do you want us to move?" I said "no, it's OK" but didn't add "because you add an absurdity to the image which I quite enjoy."

Earlier, we had a walk around Thorpeness, including a refreshing cliff top section and a lunch of fresh prawns at the Dolphin. The lake in the village is called "The Meare" - I am not sure what went wrong with the spelling.
