LD 445. Easy to do.

Everyone is Scotland can get rapid lateral flow devices (LFDs) for testing at home twice a week. They’ve been widely available for several weeks. Their efficiency is still controversial - there are certainly caveats when used in population screening, (not to mention as a tool for event admission etc!); they shouldn’t be seen alone as a covid19 control measure, but more part of the wider set of practices and behaviours. There are still unknowns and uncertainties re vaccination benefits, transmission after vaccination, the strain virulence and so on, it’s complicated. Anyway, not withstanding, the lateral flow tests are easy to do and report upon. And many at work etc have done for months. 445 days of Lockdown restrictions.

My wife met her sister near Edinburgh, their second meeting of 2021; last time outside, today indoors in a hotel.

Our younger son came over briefly this evening. Leavers Day at school for their senior pupils; the others move up a year group on Monday. It’s been a busy week with Assessments and so on. He was tired. End of term is on 25 June. Session 2020-21 has certainly been some year.
