How Old?

Dear O'H dear and Lovely Tea Jenny,

There was a young woman signing up for a membership at the pool today. She gave her date of birth as “17th January 2001”

I had a complete old person moment, “She can’t have been born in 2001. She’s a proper adult, not a child. I have children born in the early 2000’s and they are…oh wait, they aren’t children either.”

It’s a small step to “It seems like only yesterday.”

C
