A Tribute to a Good Friend

We are in Aberystwyth for the weekend. This morning we received the very sad news that a friend had died; he was 82 and in poor health, but we hadn’t expected him to go so soon. He was a former Professor of Spanish, a towering intellect and a very good man. A passionate Cornishman, he retired with his wife to Penzance some years ago. We saw the flag of St Pirin on the promenade among those of other nations, and thought of him.
