Friendship
A milestone today.
We haven’t seen friends or family “in the flesh” since March last year. It’s been a very long time.
Today a friend of nearly 50 years visited, and the three of us sat in the back garden enjoying the sun-shine. Lunch was provided.
J returned from Peru in May, and we were very happy to have him round. We have seen him on his occasional visits back over the years (most recently at a meet up in London), his residence here will now be a bit longer. In his vocation retirement doesn’t really happen, and it looks as if he’ll be travelling around, based at UK HQ in Solihull not far from J’s sister (it’s a small world). His Superior is insisting he has a mobile phone and bank card, both of which he has done without his whole life. Neither have been necessities hot him in Peru and South America where he has lived and travelled.
This is the only unpeopled shot I’ve taken all day, so it’s the blip.
And …… as a matter of record, and following on from what I said yesterday, as we sat in the garden a pair of house martins turned up, examining last years nest. It looks promising.
