Curiosity

Muscari tenuiflorum, a variety of tassel flowered grape hyacinth.   With lots of greenish brown lower flowers, it's more a botanical curiosity than a beauty but I rather like it.   An unusual, late flowering spring bulb.   A bit more of it in extra pic.

Another busy one.   Preparing for going away, lots of laundry as the sun finally arrived and a great afternoon train ride up the valley to celebrate Chris's birthday.   Jamie stopped home and made a fantastic, moist chocolate  birthday cake topped with whipped cream and marshmallows.   Delicious.   We all enjoyed a piece, sitting in the cool shade outside at tea time.
