Y Gogarth
We were expecting delivery of our new bed this morning, and it arrived at 8am, so it was a good job I was up! I'm glad it came early though as there's nothing worse than having to wait around all day. Alan built it and we unwrapped the new Simba mattress and left it to 'grow', it amazes me how they come vacuum packed.
After breakfast we went to look at new fires, and then drove into Llandudno as Alan needed to go to B&Q and I wanted to pay in a cheque. While we were there we decided to have a walk along the main street, stopping for a coffee and a pepsi, then I wanted to go to a shop on the pier where we'd seen some comical artwork incorporating the Llandudno Goats - I bought a couple of small prints.
We strolled back to the car along the seafront, which was buzzing today as the weather was good, there were people queuing for boat trips and the open top tour buses were busy too. I asked Alan if we could drive up to the top of the Great Orme (Y Gogarth in Welsh), and once parked up, we walked up to the summit to enjoy the view. With the cable cars I said we could almost be in the Alps, the views are just stunning.
On our way back down, we took the toll road around the base of the Orme, which is a 4.5 mile circular road. It costs £3.50 to drive on there, but there are lots of picnic stopping points and again the views are wonderful. I'd actually like to walk it at some time, although it is quite hilly! I'm still in awe of our new area, and have no regrets about moving here.
In other news, Rach had her first Covid jab today, I'm happy that she had Pfizer, and Scott gets his next week. I don't know if I mentioned but her half brother who is 18 had Covid about 2 weeks ago, and it was confirmed to be the Delta variant. Her dad now also has it and at day 10 is in quite a bad way with a secondary infection that's being treated by antibiotics, but if these don't work they say he needs to go in hospital. Naturally Rach is quite concerned, but fortunately she hasn't seen either of them so isn't at risk herself. Fingers crossed he recovers soon!
