Worms Eye View

Took delivery of my new GoPro Hero 3 Black Edition Camera today so popped out to give it a very quick spin.

Did some HD video at 100fps of the birds taking the biscuit I was throwing, back the the computer and onto Final Cut for some slow motion. Awesome!

Then did some time lapse frames of the birds and the clouds. Very easy and very effective. Will buy a kitchen timer to mount it onto for some time lapse pan shots tomorrow.

Grabbed this photo in Stills mode with a 30 frame burst.

Initial thoughts are that the GoPro Hero 3 is ideal at what it is mainly designed for which is action shots and time lapse. as for a stills camera, it is very poor, overly sharpens the jpeg image, the lens gives dreadful Chromatic Abrasions which Lightroom just can't get rid of and on the whole I will stick with other cameras for this, unless its underwater or in extreme conditions.

Just need to start coming up with some ideas to make the most of it till the summer comes.
