The Milky Way

Today we drove to Dumfries and Galloway to visit the Crawick Multiverse.   http://crawickmultiverse.co.uk
This has been a major land restoration project, turning the landscape of old open cast mining into a thing of beauty - an artistic landscape, inspired by the cosmos. With winding paths through wild flowers, your walk takes you past galaxies, comets, the Sun, the multiverse and more, all depicted using materials found on site. This photo features the Milky Way, our spiral galaxy.
The weather was good to us - warm but not oppressive, but it was breezy at the high points! The views were worth holding on to your hats and skirts for. The walk round is easy - you don't have to climb all the high points if you don't want to. 
I think we'll go back again.
