A token of friendship
Slept pretty well.....but was awake just after 5, not only were the pigeons making their usual cooing noises on the chimney stack, but in addition, a group of magpies (which is called a tidings of magpies apparently, who knew?!!)
Anyway, I did eventually get a couple more hours sleep thankfully.
Showered and hair done, downstairs for my usual fruity breakfast, then got my gardening stuff together, a change of clothes, and headed to my sis's for the rest of the day.
Once I arrived, sat and chatted cor a little while, had a brew, then got, changed and got stuck, intomthemvarious jobs, sis needed me to do for her, mostly planting up, cutting back a bit, sweeping and watering. Her arm is getting better, allowing her to use it a little more, another week and she should be able to remove to splint a bit more.
We sat and had tea in the garden, roast ham, new potatoes and a mixed salad, that was after we had watched the England game. A win is a win, but not an overly impressive first performance, imho, but onwards and upwards hopefully!
Headed home around 7.30, to give me enough time to water my own baskets and tubs, before watching Time with Sean Bean. It is quite a heavy and geipping series, well acted.
Made myself an egg mayo and watercress sandwich around 10.30, as we did have dinner not long after 4 ;-) and treated myself to a large G&T first time using my new glass. My friend who lost her daughter last year bought me this glass when hub passed away, as she said it reminded her of how much we loved our garden :-) Thank you K
A memory popped up from facebook this evening which made me feel sad, just a simple post saying we were sat in the garden at the end of a lovely day, with a bottle of red.........one hear on, here I am tonight, with a a G&T for one :-(
No tears today, again, which is good I guess!
Survived another week without you my love <3
Happy new week all, stay safe
