Rosslyn
We knew it would be hot today (it was) so decided to take Arlo to Roslin Glen for a walk where there were trees and a RIVER. We had various stops by the river to throw things in for him to pull out and walked down a path we'd not been before by the river, I hadn't realised what it was like.
On our way back to the car we detoured past the 15th century Rosslyn Chapel, made famous by that true to life film, The Da Vinci Code. It has been a fair few years since we have visited it a properly, maybe +10 years and then it had scafolding around it allowing you to look up close and the detailed stone work up high. I think a massive canopy was then fitted over it to get some big restoration done, which also lasted some time - i think I'd forgotten it had now been removed.
The stone carvings are amazing, so much detail and from what I remember, even more so inside. The last photo is a view of Roslin Castle just down the hill. It's difficult to get decent views in Roslin Glen due to all the trees, but it must look pretty spectacular with out them.
Ms H has been at her friends overnight and on her way back got her first vaccination, pfizer, which is what the young folk get here. I say young, under 40s don't get the AZN one. She's feeling ok and I think she's glad the first one is done. It had been scheduled for the day before her birthday in 3 weeks, but she didn't want anything interfering with any celebrations.
