Woody Wednesday (Wednesday 9th June 2021)

Apart from planting in some crocosmia bulbs, it was a mostly social Woody Wednesday, enjoying the shade the garden trees provided while watching the fledged jackdaws and resident garden birds and chatting over a cup of tea. Amongst the pictures I took were these alpine strawberries in a planter by the front door.

Paul McCartney & Wings - Band on the Run (recorded September 1973, EMI Studios, Lagos)
Listening to this now nearly fifty years on it is noticeable how, rather like the Abbey Road medley, it seems to be three different songs, seamlessly stitched together, with the Band On The Run part not coming in for a minute or two. There had been virtually no Paul McCartney post-Beatles in my collection, so when I found the compilation All The Best! in a charity shop for 33p, I bought it, and rediscovered this track on this day.
