Jumping in the puddle

It's been pouring in Vancouver for the last few days, and it'll likely continue to rain till after the weekend. While I raced indoor so I won't get wet, OO in her rain gear took her time to enjoy the puddles.

In Hong Kong where I grew up, rain would mostly come in the summer. I remember I would lose all my rain gear so I could run out and get soaking wet. There was something about walking in the rain with no umbrella, no raincoat, no rain boots that was liberating. I didn't have to worry about catching a cold, ruining my makeup or my nice shoes.

That was the joy of childhood.
