Remembering Henry.....
Because this is Flag Day in the United States, I fully intended to display a flag for my blip, but I did not really intend to do it the way it is in this collage. But life happens and plans get changed... Henry Hobbs opened his eyes in heaven on D-Day, June 6th, so I think that it is perfectly fitting that today, Flag Day, that we sat in the MPB sanctuary after Henry's deacon, Roger, read his obituary and remembered Henry with tears and laughter and stories of a man who loved God, his country, his beloved wife, the family they created together and his neighbors. Daniel spoke to us for a few minutes, reminding us that though he is no longer with us, Henry is now more alive than he has ever been and we will be, too, the next time we see him We lifted our hearts and voices as we sang a final song together, the first and last verses of "Amazing Grace".....and then we left, knowing that we had celebrated Henry's life in a way he would have liked.
