Hoverfly on the Nigella

We took a wonderful self-guided tour of Congressional Cemetery today.  It's in a part of DC that is off the beaten track so most people don't know where it is.  The tour provided on the cemetery app was absolutely fascinating and we saw the graves of some very famous people including John Phillip Sousa, J.Edgar Hoover, and Matthew Brady, the famous civil war photographer.  

The cemetery is very much a living cemetery.  It is open for off-leash dog walking and sometimes there are chamber music concerts.  Some of the grave-sites are quite large and have beautiful small gardens around them. It was a beautiful day with lovely breezes so overall very enjoyable.  It's always so nice to find another hidden gem in this town where we have lived for over 40 years.
