Waiting in the Dark
Yesterday I mentioned feeling nostalgic when revisiting our old flat and roof terrace.
Today I was just glad we don't live in the city centre any more.
I was back in town for another appointment at the GP's surgery that I visited with my mother last week. This blip shows its waiting room, which is facing south.
In spite of the closed shutters and whirling ceiling fan, after 20 minutes of waiting my shirt was stuck to the plastic chair.
Later, on my way back to the car, I passed a thermometer: 32 degrees in the shade.
Back at the house it's still hot at 29 degrees. But the air feels a lot fresher here, probably thanks to all the trees in our area.
