First of the year

The first yellow flag of the year. The road sides and ditches are lined with clumps of them. The flowers don't last long but they are attractive plants, so tall and stately. 

Lottie and I had a good long walk today, after I got back from helping Ruth. I certainty did more than my 10,000 steps!

We saw a newly mown field with twenty plus oystercatchers feeding in it!  They were obviously finding something tasty to eat. Also saw quite a few swallows and terns so, despite the chilly wild,  there are signs of summer!
