Luck

After a bit of a brutal day at work I decided to brave IKEA for a parasol. Was pleasantly surprised!
1) they had exactly what I needed
2) I could get all the parts I needed
3) the staff were incredibly helpful
4) the traffic home through Croydon was fine
5) the hole in my old table was big enough for the pole.

Result.
