A new lease of life

While a friend attended an appointment at the New Victoria Hospital I thought I would have a look around the Battlefield area on the southside of Glasgow.
The top photo shows the Old Victoria Infirmary which was opened in 1890 and served the south side of Glasgow until 2015. The building was designed by Campbell Douglas and Sellars and is B listed. It's currently being repurposed as new homes with additional homes being built in the grounds.
The middle photo is the new Victoria Hospital built across the road from the old one.
The bottom photo is the nearby Battlefield Rest. Since 1994, a well known and much loved Italian restaurant. It started off life in 1914 as a tram shelter. It was designed by Frank Burnet and Boston and is B listed.
