Carolina anole hiding
I spooked this lizard when I came out the back door and saw him jump on to a shrub. I realized he looked really weird so I had to investigate. I gently pulled the top branch of the bush away and there he was. Losing a layer of skin! He sat there long enough for me to get a couple of phone photos.
My friend Melody stopped by and gave me a bucket full of irises to plant. We laughed because someone had given them to her and she did not want to plant them so she thought about me! Yikes, I could not say no but then I had to get out there this morning to get them planted. And it was hot. I decided to put most of them in the bed at the front where nothing seems to do well. They can sit there until next spring and then I will see what happens.
My dahlia plants that the deer ate the tops out of are trying their best to get new buds. I am going to get some plant for flowers instead of the general fertilizer that I use in hopes that they will come out. They are healthy looking except for one that I think was just eaten down to far. Keep your fingers crossed.
