Yellowhammers

I stuck my nose out into the frosty sunshine and heard the unmistakeable refrain of the yellowhammer. It wasn't as persistent as in the summer, but it was the first time I have heard it this year.

Our woodpile has reduced in size quite radically. I think we must have burnt almost 25 cubic meters. On the bright side, our electricity bill has actually gone down quite a lot.
