An afternoon with Susi

You are very honoured Blippers................. This is a photo of me with Susi. Susi is one of my most favourite people in the whole wide world but she hardly ever lets Ann photograph her.

Susi is Ann's 'support bubble'. Support bubble???? …............That phrase hadn't even been invented a year ago. A year ago we didn't have 'support bubbles'. During first lock down (which lasted for more than 100 days when we initially thought we'd be locked up for 3 weeks ) single people had absolutely NO support whatsoever.

We've said it before and we'll say it again.............................. If Ann hadn't had me during lock down, she probably wouldn't even have bothered getting out of bed some days. Anyway, she does have me and she has got out of bed every day and she has got Susi, her 'support bubble'.

We can't actually remember when single humans were allowed to have a 'support bubble'. Probably when the Government realised that everyone was in danger of developing mental health issues. Lol!!

Susi has been our 'support bubble' ever since 'support bubbles' were invented. Ann sees Susi at least once a week, sometimes more. Ann goes to her house for dinner, and she comes to our house for dinner. Unfortunately when Ann goes to Susi's for dinner I usually have to stay 'home alone' because Susi has two cats and even though I don't terrorise cats, Ann says it isn't fair on the cats for me to be in their home.

Today we walked over to Susi's and sat in the garden. I was allowed to come because Missy hardly ever goes outside and Freddie goes off exploring first thing in the morning and doesn't come home until later. Susi always gives me a massive bowl of water and sometimes she gives me treats or carrots though I only got water today. And also there is a manky old tennis ball in Susi's garden that I get to play with. Yay!

We're off to our home in St Ives at the weekend so we thought we'd go and say 'Goodbye' to our support bubble. Susi will miss us and we will miss her too.

…...............BUT...................... we only spent 5 weeks in St Ives last year due to COVID so we're trying to rectify that this year. Having said that; who saw the News tonight?  Massive outbreak of COVID in town and pretty much half of the restaurants/pubs closed.

We don't care. COVID is NOT going to go away. We just all need to learn to live with this?!!
