Christmas present

Mum and I were out tonight eating our Christmas present from #2 son: vouchers towards a meal at Continis. It was very good, as ever, but the Contini venues are the only places I know that still require you to do that nonsense thing of taking your plate off the tray and putting the used ones back on again.

Before that I'd swum and visited the dental hygienist by 11, made an appointment for a check up at my dentist, written a piece for the student e-newsletter and finished off those two outstanding tasks from yesterday - and that was before lunchtime. I also sorted out a log-in problem. Later I went to Margiotta and bought Mum plants for her balcony. They are from Pentland Plants so they should be ok.

I was down early at the Manor to plant the plants. That was quite a messy job but it looks much cheerier now.

We had a lovely meal and I wish we'd gone earlier to sit outside for a drink as it was a lovely evening. I'm worried about Mum's walking though. It is very bad.

It was a beautiful evening and I was home in time to watch the lockdown drama 'Together'. It was amazing, with a moving monologue about the care home scandal. Highly recommended.

The extra is another midsummer sunset after 11.
