A bird on the bush
A beautiful evening at Barns Ness. Great to see and hear the skylarks larking, though there was no sign of the owl Mo and George had seen the previous evening.
Every time I tried to get closer to this bird it would fly off before re-settling on the gorse. And with me lumbering toward it, it's not hard to see why.
From the description on the RSPB website, I think it might be a stonechat. But I'd be delighted if anyone who knows better could keep me right on my dodgy bird identification.
