Elk River Falls

We drove up to spend the weekend with son #1 in North Carolina. Yeah for temperatures 20 degrees cooler than home! I am actually sitting outside enjoying the cool whileI post my photo.

In order not to get here early and disturb his work day ( he works from home) we went a very different route. To Asheville to get lunch at The Moose Cafe which is one of our favorite places. We had the dog with us so had to get take out which we planned to eat in the car. But we found a picnic table in the shade at the farmers market behind the cafe. The dog was happy to walk around.

Then we drove the long way on the two lane back road to get to Elk Park to see this waterfall. It was a short hike but very rugged for Jerry’s knee but he did really well. The area was really appealing and the trail went further along the river. Another trip in the future!

My grand girls will be here this weekend! First time since Christmas we have been able to make a visit work together.
