The top of cut gate

This has become a bit of a tradition. Closest Friday to solstice, head up to the peaks after work and ride into the night. Having a beer on the moors as sun set.

This year Eddie planned the ride over cut gate. I didn't plan to come, but after the positive news on Thursday and a stressful week, it was a good thing to do.

The weather wasn't as it was in previous years, but it was very atmospheric and the rain held off.

I took the stooge again as my full suspension bike still has a broken spoke. Everyone else was on full suspension bikes, felt a bit out of place on a rigid bike. But the stooge is a beast and I was having a blast, outgunned but not outclassed!

It was Neil's first ride in the peaks and on his new bike. He punctured.

The midges ate us and the beer tasted great at the end. Home very late.
