Weather extremes

Around 8am this morning we had the most horrendous rain which resulted in the road outside where we are staying being completely flooded and impassable, In another part of Auckland a tornado struck causing a lot of damage and sadly resulting in a fatality. My blip was taken at 1pm, beautifully sunny and calm. It was 20degrees. This is winter?
