‘A trespass incident’

Pride comes before a trespass incident, as they say.

I was hustling to the station after work as I planned to meet Jackie this evening in London. On the way I snapped the rainbow flag hanging from a window of the Downing Place United Reformed Church. On arrival at the station, the trains were in disarray. I know they use vague language when trains are cancelled because of mix-ups with the rotas, but does ‘a trespass incident’ mean that there has been a tragedy or that someone has been arsing about on the tracks?

The station was teeming with delayed travellers. Faced with a sweaty, crammed and late journey, Jackie and I aborted the plan and rearranged. Instead I lay in the evening sun on Parker’s Piece for an hour and soaked up the balmy temperatures.
