Letheringsett Watermill
G and I walked across to Letheringsett Watermill this morning. It's one of only three independent water driven flour mills in the country. It was mentioned in the Doomsday book and the current building was built in 1802. Grain is sourced within North Norfolk and their 15 different types of flour are supplied to local bakeries and shops. The millstones have to be redressed every two years, and there's only one contractor who can do this, based in Staffordshire. The work is being done at the moment and will cost an eyewatering £2,993, understandably a Justgiving page has been set up to raise some money.

With all the rain yesterday, there were lots of fat raindrops on the plants on our walk, I've added a collage as an Extra.
Day 460 / Day 34 of Step 3 of Roadmap Easing (for my record only)
The UK's longest-known COVID patient has died after he asked to end his treatment, he contracted the virus in March 2020 and spend over a year in intensive care. Walk in vaccination centres are open across England this weekend. Surge testing has started in Cumbria with those aged 12-30 urged to get tested. Evidently there's a discussion in Govt over whether to replace self-isolation with daily tests for those who've had two vaccine doses once all adults have been offered two doses. It sounds reasonable providing it excludes those with medical conditions that mean the vaccine isn't effective, vaccine efficacy is maintained through top-ups, and new variants don't elude the vaccine.
