Mayfair Theatre Kaikoura

Kaikoura's Mayfair theatre was officially reopened on November 19 2020.
A $3.6 million restoration project has breathed new life into the picturesque movie theatre, which has been out of action since the November 2016 earthquake.

I've always really like this building, but thought after the 2016 earthquake it would be lost, with Kaikoura being a very small community. But a great group of volunteers raised the money with no need for taxpayers to pay. An amazing amount - $300,000 was raised by the Kaikoura Community OpShop!
