Heading to roost

Yet another tiresomely grey, damp and somewhat miserable day.  I did manage to rake up the leaves that are now largely off the big tree on the berm........it's an ongoing dialogue with the council about taking them away....or better still, removing the tree.  Whilst it's presence has been quite nice at times, particularly over the summer, it's become sooooo large that it steals too much of the natural daylight in my house.  That combined with the leaf problem has prompted me to request that the council remove it.  I'm still waiting for a reply and I'll contact them again soon if necessary.  This picture, ironically, is the offending tree which just happened to be the roosting place tonight for a few local starlings who were gathering there late this afternoon.  There are plenty of other trees around for the birds to roost in if.....when!......the tree is removed.

Fingers crossed for some sunshine tomorrow..........please :)
