Eels Foot and the Abbey
As has become customary, our day began with me cooking a full English breakfast for us all, collective tidying away and then four of us heading out on a walk. This then is full Day 1 - of the June 2021 Jolly Boys Outing. A short distance (around an hour) from home yet sufficiently distant to be unfamiliar territory, enough to get the 'we're away on holiday' feel about it, without the dreaded hours queueing on the Motorway. Just perfect and the weather is being simply glorious!
Our destination is the Eels Foot pub at the southern extremes of RSPB Minsmere (it has plentiful outdoor seating) and a looped return to Leiston along Sandlings walk and across the newly created open access grassland field on the margins of the town. Delightful as it is, cynics might see it as greenwashing by a certain power company seeking to develop the new Sizewell C nuclear power station. I personally, couldn't comment.
