Always the optimist

We always had lots of gooseberries when I was a child. The bushes never seemed to let us down.

I have a good friend who adores gooseberries. She can’t ever seem to find them where she lives in North London. 

A few years ago I bought a couple of bushes but they’ve only ever produced seven - between them.

This afternoon, I was feeling brave. I went into Morrison’s for the first time since before the first lockdown. 

And look what I found (and bought).

Ever the optimist……

I suspect that’s why I’m watching the tennis.
And will go on to watch the football.
