Father’s Day
Andy was up early to go and play golf. So Merlin and I had a relaxing time resting together before we went out for a walk. It was an overcast morning with drizzle in the air so we did a few loops of the field then walked home via Hollybank Lane and Long Copse Lane.
Once home I phoned Dad and we chatted for an hour or so. Very good to catch-up as we’ve not spoken for three or four weeks.
Andy returned happy with his round of golf but having strained a muscle in his side stopping to get his water bottle from his bag - a good opportunity to practice some massage!
And so the day gradually got away from me.
This is the view across the field towards the house - as seen on our afternoon dog walk. The grass and flowers are long and sprinkled with butterflies (lots of different species today). I felt the scene really shows the abundance of mid summer. Such a special time of year. I stopped to take it in and to enjoy the late afternoon sunshine which fleetingly appeared.
Hope your day has been a good one.
