Heron silhouette

I think my young heron may have found a mate. I see it most days in the same corner of the meadow, but today it wasn't alone. This one (that I like to think of as my heron, I'll need to give him a name) settled at the top of a tree before being chased away by a band of crows. When the heron landed, the crows circled around it for a while, then chased if off again. I guess they were defending their nesting sites but they made no sound at all and gave no signs of aggression, which was strange.
