Flowers in the Rain
This morning, we braved the heavy and persistent rain to meet four friends at National Trust property Mottisfont Abbey, famed for its rose garden.
Usually, at this time of year, the garden is heaving with visitors but, today it was considerably quieter, which made it easier to view the roses and other flowers. Despite all the rain over the past four days, the flowers were still putting on an impressive display, and we were pleasantly surprised to be able to smell the scent of the roses and lavenders.
