Today's the day .......................... for the Summer Solstice

The sun just didn't want to disappear from sight this evening.

When I took this picture, it must have been getting on for 10.00pm and the sun was still a fiery ball, resting precariously on the far skyline.  But then, of course, today is the 21st June.  It is Midsummer - the day when the sun reaches its highest point in the sky and gives us the longest day of the year. 

It's also Anna's birthday - so this one is for her, to wish her a Happy Birthday and hope that her day has been good ....................... x
