Not Just Any Poppy…

A couple of summers ago l lamented in my journal how l couldn’t get red, pink or white poppies to grow in my garden.
Plenty of Welsh yellow and Californian orange but no matter what l planted l couldn’t get the reds.
So futile were my efforts that l stopped trying.
Then two lovely Blippers ( Evolybab and Freespiral) sent me seeds, isn’t that amazing?
I scattered them, potted them, put them in the fridge before sowing them….nothing.
Last year my mind was on other things and l forgot to plant some of the seeds l had held back.
And today there in my garden is my first red poppy, l had to blink twice and it looks like there are more to come.
I am smiling just looking at that patch of promise.
