Morning walk to Lizard Point.
We set off from Lizard Village on a circular walk much earlier this morning.
We walked past the beautiful Housel Bay on our way towards Lizard lighthouse.
We made a stop at the place down near some rocks below the Lighthouse, to pour some dried rose petals I had been saving from the garden over the past two summers, into the deep fissure of one of them.
The place where we poured in our son Matt’s ashes in February 2007.
It is such a special place
So many memories for us all.
When we were approaching the Most Southerly Café of mainland UK we could see far more people than usual.
So we gave it a wide berth and walked back up to the Village which was absolutely teeming with people everywhere. The car park there was rammed!
The NT car park by the Lighthouse was already packed so much they were using the overflow one.
Anyone who knows
Lizard Point knows that there’s only a single track lane down to the car park which has passing places.
At one point as we were walking along the footpath by the field there was a complete log jam of cars.
So we escaped up to the Village and went to a quiet Farmhouse café where we sat outside enjoying the peace again, with the best coffee I’d ever tasted. We had a cafetière for two, and some homemade cake.
Then rescued our car from where we’d parked it much earlier on this morning, and beat a retreat back to our lovely bungalow near the SW coast path on the Polurrian cliffs.
Off for another walk this afternoon.
It’s been very sunny earlier but more clouds now.
I’m still catching upon blips!
