Vacation #day 34# Statue Zuidhaven Zierikzee

'Today is our last vacation day.
The weather is changeable. Occasional windy and occasional drizzle.
This morning we already cleaned up everything at the campsite, so that we don't have too much work before leaving tomorrow.
Then we drove to Zierikzee. Zierikzee is located in the province of Zeeland.

This monument stood at the south harbor gate.
I googled the meaning.

Tried but not broken' is the text on this monument as a permanent reminder of the flood disaster of February 1, 1953. ... This monument, depicting a child seeking protection from its mother, was designed by the Zierikzee sculptor Ad Braat. The statue is on the outside of the Zuidhavenpoort.
