I managed to sleep last night but my ribs were still very sore this morning.
We awoke early again and what a stunning morning it was. We had the Loch to ourselves as I shuffled along. Carrying the camera was completely out of the question so I just tried to take it all in.
We were soon packed up ( I watched!) and on our way to Mull.
We passed a few red deer sporting velvet covered antlers. JD took some shots for me.
By the time we had crossed over the Sound of Mull the painkillers were kicking in and I was able to assist in setting up camp.
Making the most of the fabulous day we drove a short distance to Loch Na Keal to park up alongside a group of twitchers who were watching a Golden Eagle nest.
We found a sheltered spot out of the 'bracing' wind and joined in the vigil.
I don't know how these people have the patience to wait and wait for a fleeting glimpse of a bird.
I couldn't sit still for long so went for a chat with them. Found out some key spots for nests and other wildlife hotspots on Mull.
JD suddenly called out to say there was an Eagle approaching. It was a White-tailed who flew straight over our heads -WOW!
We then continued on around the Loch and found the site of a WTE nest. It is known to have a chick and the adult female could be seen close by- :-D
What better location for a beach barbie.
While my personal chef was rustling up some sausages, I practised my BIF shots in readiness for tomorrow's boat trip.
