Autumn Comes Early

I went down to the sawmill for more timber offcuts for my stove. The drought is worse out on the Plains than it is here near the hills. Some trees are already turning colour, as this ash is doing. Still more are shedding their leaves while they are still green. And it's not just the deciduous trees. I saw stressed conifers, and shrubs like Rhododendrons with their leaves dangling.
