Men at work

Lots of things going on today. First up at 8.30am there was a mini digger two doors up ripping out tarmac. Been noise from there all day, expect they are going to have block paving laid. Then about 8 Open Reach vans on the estate, with men crouched over cable ducts, pulling ropes, shouting to each other. I walked past them several times whilst dog walking and nipping over to the shop, and chatted to one of them. Seems they are laying fibre cables so in due course we should have super fast broadband available.
Two close neighbours are trying to move house before the end of the month to save stamp duty, one left today, one can’t get a removal company booked. And then the third neighbour that we chat to a fair bit, and who are also moving, are going on Monday. But they have had to hire a van and enlist family to help them. Some days I see no-one save the post lady!
