Burray
I have moved further north, to the island of Burray in the Orkney Islands.
This took me on a Loganair flight to Kirkwall, on the Orkney mainland, and then in a rented SEAT Mii from there south across the islands of Lamb Holm and Glimps Holm. They are connected by causeways, so it is very quick.
To describe Burray as tranquil would be to undersell it. The only sounds I can hear right now (20:57) are two small local children fishing off the pier and their parents’ occasional voices trying to make sure they do not fall in.
The Blip is the Ring of Brodgar, where I revisited my Neolithic origins - the stones estimated to be from 2,500 to 2,000 BC.
The Extra is the amazing view after takeoff from Inverness this morning.
