Surprised - again!

It was such a lovely day today so I decided to go to the butterfly meadow high up on the downs. 
There were lots of butterflies there, but I was rather surprised to see this mature male Common club-tail dragonfly. 
I have seen one there before, but it is quite unusual as they are usually only encountered when they first emerge, after that they tend to spend most of their lives high in the tree tops. This one was quite happily sunning himself on the low vegetation, and very happy to have his photo taken at close range.
