Under The Bridge
After 5 months of dog walking, the desire to find new places or routes to go is not something we had originally thought about. In the past month or so we've been exploring areas we thought we already knew, which means going a bit off piste/path and it's been really interesting. The amount of really old bridges hidden from view is amazing, some of which must be 100s of years old and you can imagine horse and carts going over them, hobbit style.
A few days ago we branched off west from Arniston, under a road bridge by wading through the river and found a possible new walk. I went that new walk tonight and came across this bridge over Redside Burn which comes from Edgelaw and it doesn't look like it has long left, relatively speaking. I then followed a really long overgrown track which ended back at the same river and the bridge there only had the 2 girders left, maybe it was a wooden planked bridge once. I think that might be a future expedition!
