Where are the brakes????

Day out at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.  There's a lot to see, too much for one day. I have been before, so chose to take the boat trip over to Gosport to the submarine museum, my favourite of all the attractions. Above is the driver's seat in the submarine HMS Alliance, quite a big beast.  Imagine trying to steer this huge thing without seeing where you're going.

Also fascinating was HMS M.33, a coastal monitor ship, see extras. They had quite a graphic video showing - in surround sound and vision - what it might have been like at Gallipoli, where this ship survived unscathed.

Finally - the last extra is of a Polaris missile.
