The male great tit looks worn out (extra), although it may be that he is also “in moult”.

The female disappeared last week, the victim I suspect of a sparrowhawk or domestic cat. The male has been very busy since, the noisy youngsters are making it very clear they expect frequent visits with tasty grubs. I think he’s doing pretty well.

Not sure whether this is really abstract, or sufficiently colourful, but it will have to do.
