Only 30 Years late...

Someone alerted me today to something that I hadn't realised in 30 years of living in Spain. It's my Saint's Day...San Juan... St John!

A bit of context... My first name, Alan, is an amalgam of my parents names Alexander and Jean (first two and last two letters, respectively...no one told me that until I was well over 50!).  And there is no St. Alan!

My middle name is John, after my maternal grandfather. One of my email systems sets out my full name, for some reason, and my Spanish business partner, out of the blue today, wished me a happy Saints Day!

Now, as Saint's Days go it is one of the best coinciding with the longest day and marking the start of summer with fireworks galore!   Duh!   If only I had realised this 30 years ago!    For the Spanish, their saints day almost equals their birthdays... all those pressies missed!!!

This is the traditional San Juan cake!
