My photo a month farmhouse
A large sign has gone up adjacent to Pear Tree Lane in Loughborough. Land acquired for 'development' by Persimmon Builders, which means thousands of houses to be built on the farmland between Shepshed, Loughborough and Hathern. Persimmon have just built a new estate next to the exit from Shepshed. The houses are ugly, far too close together and far too near the M1. There is a question about how well built they are. Oh yes, and the estate is built on a flood plain.
Back in February 2012, I stood on the Hathern Road, looked east, and took a photo of this farmhouse in a winter dawn. In 2013 I started a project of taking a photo a month of the farmhouse. It's very interesting to go back and look at the photos. Of course the weather and light conditions changed all the time.
Today, Basil and I walked along the drive to the farmhouse for the very first time. I would not be surprised if it is demolished as part of the housing plan. It looks like a traditional farmhouse, rather than a bijou residence.
